IONIQ 5 N Features
The new IONIQ 5 is a Corner Rascal, an Everyday Sportscar and a Racetrack Capable performer all in one. An important part of Hyundai's electrification initiatives, the IONIQ 5 N takes things even further. It's a way for the brand to show what can be done and give a hint as to what is to come in electric performance. The IONIQ 5 N is the most powerful Hyundai ever made. Start with not one, but two electric motor generators delivering 601 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque. Push the N Grin Boost button and that number climbs to 641 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. What's a Grin Boost button? It's a button that when pushed gives a momentary increase of power. Think of it as your own personal Formula 1 DRS system.
The IONIQ 5 N is equipped with an adaptive suspension that changes according to the road surfaces at hand. The result is a compliant ride that varies as much as the street surfaces do. The IONIQ 5 N rides on specially manufactured Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires developed with noise suppression technology to keep it as quiet as a standard electric vehicle.
High-performance braking helps at the other end of the spectrum, to bring things under control following a spirited romp. Their grip is incredible, and so is the IONIQ 5 N's handling.
Ioniq 5 N Interior
The IONIQ 5 N takes the curved dashboard of the regular IONIQ 5 and improves on it with the addition of N-specific gauges and other features. The sport-oriented interior is designed to thrill with Alcantara-covered performance seats that keep you in place while negotiating the twisties. Blind-Spot View Monitors, one of our favorite features is included on the new IONIQ 5 N. With it, drivers are able to view down the side of the car when the turn signal is activated. The best part of this is the view is seen on your gauge display. Inside is Hyundai's Advanced Rear Occupant Alert. Using radar to detect the breathing of a child or pet, this system alerts drivers of any loved ones left in the vehicle inadvertently.
Ioniq 5 N hatchback design
Whether you consider the IONIQ 5 N a hatchback or an SUV, it is still one of the most dynamic vehicles on the road today. With matrix-style trim located throughout, and a lower ride height than its more pedestrian IONIQ 5 sibling, it reeks of cool. There are aero fixtures all around. They include a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and side skirts for starters. Add a set of wheel flares at each corner for the wider Pirelli P-Zero tires, special alloy wheels and red performance trim.
