The new Santa Cruz is the first four-door Hyundai pickup truck available in North America. Based on the Hyundai Tucson platform, it features similar front-end styling to the Tucson, including the signature daylight running lights located behind the grille.
In profile, the Santa Cruz features a raked windshield leading to a cabin with an intense sense of urgency to the overall look. The Santa Cruz rides on big 20-inch alloy wheels surrounded by armor-like wheel arches. The rest of the Santa Cruz features fresh styling throughout, including buttressed-like C-pillars that appeal to those who want the utility of an SUV with the opened-back capability of a compact pickup truck.
The bed in this unibody-designed adventure vehicle combines the best of both worlds. The new Santa Cruz is useful for carrying bulky, oddly-shaped items in a bed with a lockable tonneau cover. There are other compartments set aside to handle smaller items, but the lid essentially converts the bed to a trunk which is of importance to city-dwelling customers.
The overall length is just right: Able to comfortably accommodate five passengers and carry some cargo behind you in the 4.5-foot bed. As Goldilocks would say, it's just right!
