The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a new model, but it features shared parts and a platform that are also used on the award-winning IONIQ 5. It can be outfitted as a rear-wheel drive model in base trim and step up through the model range to the IONIQ 6 Limited with all-wheel drive. There are a total of seven models to choose from at this point.
The base, single motor model offers 149 horsepower, while the high-powered Long Range battery will deliver 225 horsepower. The dual-motor all-wheel drive models feature 320 horsepower thanks to the larger battery.

The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 features a slippery exterior that is one of the most aerodynamic bodies in existence today. It's in good company, with other vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Tesla and Lucid that have nearly the same ratings.
The aerodynamic body shape of the IONIQ 6 keeps extraneous road noise to a minimum so you can enjoy the ride in this new dynamic EV sedan. Despite checking in as a mid-size vehicle, the IONIQ 6's interior is surprisingly spacious for such a small footprint. The door panels are uncluttered thanks to window controls now found on the center console. A flat floor eliminates any unsightly bulges that would normally take up extra space.
Legroom is generous, thanks to the IONIQ's longer than average wheelbase. Seating is through Hyundai's Relaxation Comfort seats that are lighter and 30% thinner than seats you would find in the company's gas powered models. The seating is covered with fabrics made from recycled materials. Controls are shown via a pair of 12.3-inch display screen and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Together they form a single panel stretching two-thirds across the dashboard display.
All the common smartphone connectivity is here, too. That's in addition to Hyundai's digital Key function that allows users to open the car with a smartphone, iPhone or Apple Watch. Finally, the built-in navigation system is designed to show you charging stations along your route.
The beauty of an EV is its sudden acceleration. The new IONIQ 6 would be no different as it'll get you up and going from 0 to 60 (mph) in just over five seconds. It features steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters that allow you to change driving parameters and feel.
Squeeze the paddles to the highest level for single pedal driving. This mode allows you to drive by pushing the accelerator but as soon as you lift the IONIQ will slow you down once again.
