Hyundai's Ioniq Hybrid is the good looking alternative to the other also-ran hybrids on the market. A premium compact car with alternative propulsion via its gasoline-hybrid system, it is equipped to provide a sporty, engaging feel with incredible mileage and tons of driving enjoyment. But in order to keep your Hazelwood Hyundai Ioniq feeling fresh, Hyundai Motor America has devised the following service schedule to help you keep it that way. Equipped with Hyundai's famous 10-year/100,000 mile warranty, it will provide you with years and miles of great, reliable service. Hyundai Motor America has designed a service schedule, as listed in your Ioniq's Owner's Manual, which can keep you and your Hyundai on track towards years of satisfied ownership.

The one constant in servicing your Hyundai Ioniq is the planned 7,500 mile oil change and tire rotation intervals that will anchor each visit. Also on tap at the same time is a check of the air cleaner filter, vacuum hose, and the serpentine belt. This schedule will reoccur at 7,500, 15,000, 22,500, 30,000, 37,500 miles, and so on.

In between, other scheduled service will weave in and out, including inspection of the air conditioning refrigerant, brake hoses and lines, driveshafts and boots, exhaust pipe and muffler, brakes, calipers, and rotors and other components that are vital to the safe operation of your Hyundai IoniqOil changes, tire rotations and more.

An oil and filter changes are probably the most critical of all the service items listed in the Hyundai Service Schedules. We can't forget the importance of a high-quality synthetic motor oil. Of course, your Hyundai Ioniq will operate correctly with conventional motor oil, but we still recommend synthetic motor oil and the benefits that come with it. They include the ability to handle high temperatures and fight thermal breakdown, from the high temperatures we are experiencing. Your Hazelwood Hyundai mechanic will install a new oil filter whose job is to trap dirt and dust, before it has a chance to get inside the engine. While he is down under on your Hyundai Ioniq, the Hazelwood service technician will rotate the tires according to the diagrams in the Ioniq's Owner's Manual. The procedure will equalize the wear on the tires and hopefully get the most mileage possible from a set of tires. As always, your mileage may vary. And just in case you need replacements, your Hazelwood Hyundai parts and service department will stock the right tires for your Ioniq.

The Long Haul. It's not just oil changes and tire rotations that need taking care of. Other items include All-wheel-alignment which is a fine-tuning adjustment that will have your Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid staying straight and true. Ever have those feelings of your car wanting to drift gently to the left or right? That's your car out of alignment. That's why your Hyundai of Hazelwood service technicians recommend an alignment service once a year, or more as needed. But first, we recommend a tire balancing and rotation, before getting aligned. You will thank us later.

Stopping power: Your Hyundai Ioniq is equipped with some mighty potent brakes that are probably the most important pieces of safety equipment on your car. We know about brakes! Offering sure stops when you need them is the job of this set, too.  The brakes on your Hazelwood Hyundai Ioniq are so critical that they should be inspected every time you come in for an oil change. If you hear squeaking when applying the brakes, that's a giveaway that their time may be up. It's a sign that metal to metal contact is coming next which means a high-dollar repair is not too long after that. At the first hint of a squeak, have them changed! DO NOT WAIT for the next oil change to take them in!

Our expert technicians can examine their conditions to make sure they are well within standards for safety and to provide the ability to stop. It's always better to take a proactive lead on such inspection rather than be caught when it's too late to do anything about it. Such attention to details saves you money before the problem can really get out of hand, and expensive.

Tires: Your Hyundai Ioniq derives grip from tires that are properly matched to work correctly with your new Hyundai. Make sure they are properly inflated, balanced, rotated and aligned in order to get the longest life possible from them. We suggest checking your tread depth on a monthly basis to gauge when to replace them. Best of all, it will only cost you a penny. Grab a fresh Lincoln head penny from your pocket. That's all that's needed and with it you might just have a brush with history, at least by the U.S. Treasury. Simply place the penny head-first into the tire treads of your Hazelwood Ioniq. If Honest Abe takes a header up to his ears, you've got plenty of tread left. On the other hand, if there's air above his coif, head to the Hazelwood Hyundai Parts and Service department, right now for your Ioniq's replacements! They'll have exactly what your Hyundai needs. President Lincoln wasn't bald. Your tires shouldn't be either.

Windshield Wipers: Wipers are confusing but necessary. They are confusing because though they may not have been used too much, they are actually worn out.  That's caused by under use as much as over use. Blame it on extreme cold or extreme heat. Exposure to extreme cold can make them brittle and hard, while high heat can powder the wipers after a time. That's why we recommend keeping an extra set on hand. Or simply cruise to the Hazelwood Hyundai parts and service department for a new set today. If you need to locate us, Google "Mechanics near us," and there we will be!

Automatic Transmissions: Your Hyundai Ioniq is equipped with an automatic transmission that is a sealed unit. It won't need any maintenance other than periodic fluid level checks at 37,500, 75,000, 90,000 and 112,500 mile mark. If you subject your Ioniq to extreme driving, such as at high speeds or along mountainous grades, we would suggest checking it sooner. For best results, bring it by the service department at Hazelwood Hyundai, for a quick check today.

These service schedules and maintenance tips from your Hazelwood Hyundai service advisors and technicians will help provide you with many years and thousands of miles of driving enjoyment from behind the wheel of your sporty new Hyundai Ioniq.
